Buckeye Marine in Bobcaygeon is under new ownership.
Mark Norris, Dustin Titus and Jay Poole have purchased the business which dates back to 1949 when Tom Thompson grew it from a small bait and tackle shop to a sprawling boat sales and service operation located off County Road 36.
Norris has worked at Buckeye Marine in various roles for the past 15 years. He says the plan moving forward is to honour the legacy with an eye toward delivering on current needs and trends in the boating realm.
Norris says despite fluctuations in the economy, boating has, and will continue, to hold its own.
Norris says a public event marking a new era at Buckeye Marine will be held at some point.
