A big game and an even bigger cause will come together on June 25 as the Century 21 Lakers team up with the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) Foundation for PRHC Night during their home matchup against the Brooklin Lacrosse Club.
The $70 million Campaign for PRHC is helping advance world-class healthcare close to home by funding critical equipment and technology, supporting the recruitment of top healthcare professionals and addressing the hospital’s most urgent priorities. With more than $61.7 million already raised, the Peterborough Lakers are aiming to help push the campaign across the finish line.
Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships Pete Dalliday expressed his excitement for the event.
To further boost fundraising efforts, the Kinsmen Club of Peterborough has pledged to match proceeds generated through the game, up to $10,000.
Bob Hall, Vice President of the Kinsmen Club of Peterborough, spoke about the organization’s commitment to helping the Campaign reach its $70 million fundraising goal.
Fans can expect plenty of ways to get involved throughout the game, including bidding on a signed hockey stick from Philadelphia Flyers rookie Porter Martone. There will also be a special jersey auction in support of the Campaign. In celebration of Canada Day, the Lakers will hit the floor on June 25 in Canadian-themed jerseys which will be auctioned off following the game, with all proceeds benefitting PRHC Foundation.
The Lakers’ new Ball Toss initiative will also support the Campaign, where fans can purchase three balls for $5 for a chance to win by landing closest to centre floor. Proceeds from the ball toss will also be going directly to PRHC.
PRHC Foundation President and CEO Lesley Heighway says that PRHC night will bring the local community together for a good cause.
Supporters can also make an impact when purchasing tickets online. Fans who unlock passcode PRHC26 can add a $2 donation to the PRHC Foundation to their ticket purchase. Whether cheering from the stands or following along from home, everyone can get involved by donating directly at lakersprhc.ca.
