OPP in the City of Kawartha Lakes are still investigating the cause of a crash at the intersection of Highway 7 and New Heights Road in Omemee on Saturday night.
Officials say that a vehicle and four motorcycles were involved.
An 18-year-old male from Peterborough who was driving the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene and one of the motorcyclists, a 72-year-old male from Dunchurch, was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second motorcyclist, a 65-year-old male from Barrie, was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased. A third motorcyclist, a 30-year-old male from Sudbury, was initially transported to a local hospital with injuries and later transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
A fourth motorcyclist, a 36-year-old male from Sudbury, was treated and released at the scene.
