Oldies 96.7 will broadcast live from Peterborough Regional Health Centre, as the PRHC Foundation hosts its “Pay to Play” radiothon, inviting listeners to turn song requests into support for local health care.
The one-day event runs Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring music, community stories and live fundraising in support of the hospital’s ongoing capital campaign.
For a minimum donation of $50, participants can request any song they choose to be played on air — from throwback hits to theme songs and guilty pleasures — with all proceeds going directly to the PRHC Foundation. To make a request, click here.
A day like this would not be possible without plenty of leaders in the business community who have stepped up to help.
Michael Santos, Santos Auto Group:
Jeff Wilson, LePage Frank Real Estate:
Bob Gauvreau, Gauvreau Accounting Tax Advisory:
Susan Dunkley, Suzi Home Maker
Whelan’s Flooring Centre is also an hourly sponsor.
Funds raised through the Pay to Play initiative contribute to the PRHC Foundation’s $70 million Campaign for PRHC, which helps fund equipment and tools used by doctors, nurses and hospital staff.
Hospital officials say provincial funding does not cover medical equipment, meaning community donations are essential to maintaining and upgrading technology and resources used in patient care.
Every song request represents a donation that directly supports hospital services, helping ensure patients can continue to access care close to home.
