A lottery player in Peterborough is waking up a multi-millionaire after winning the $16 million LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball jackpot in Saturday night’s draw.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced that the winning ticket for the life-changing prize was purchased in Peterborough for the May 30 draw.
The jackpot was awarded through LOTTO 6/49’s Gold Ball draw, which guarantees a Gold Ball prize winner each time the game is played.
In addition to the jackpot winner, OLG says a ticket matching the LOTTO 6/49 second prize, worth $170,806.50, was sold in the Parry Sound-Nipissing area.
The identity of the Peterborough winner has not yet been released. OLG says more information will be provided once the ticket has been validated and the prize has been officially claimed.
