Peterborough’s Five Counties Children’s Centre came away the big winner from the 10th annual Kawartha Tri-Sport Tournament fundraiser in Ennismore.
The tournament, which featured baseball, hockey and golf played over three days, saw $30,000 of the $100,000 raised donated to Five Counties. Down Syndrome Canada and local families in need also benefitted from the event.
“We are incredibly grateful to Kawartha Tri-Sport and everyone who took part in this year’s tournament,” says Five Counties CEO Scott Pepin. He notes the money will help ensure children and families can continue to access essential services close to home, including speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and programs that build abilities for life.
“Supporting Five Counties is just one small way we can make a difference together,” adds tournament co-organizer Christina Scott.
Since its inception in 2016, the Kawartha Tri-Sport Tournament has raised more than $400,000 for local charities.
