You are being invited to help shape the city’s new long-term transportation safety strategy aimed at reducing serious traffic injuries and fatalities.
The city will host a drop-in public information centre on June 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Healthy Planet Arena, where residents can learn more about the proposed Transportation Safety Program and provide feedback.
City staff and members of the project team will be available during the session to answer questions, share information and gather public input.
Residents who cannot attend in person can also participate online through the city’s engagement platform at Connect Peterborough.
The online consultation includes an interactive map and public survey, which will remain open until June 21 at 11:59 p.m.
City officials say feedback collected through the consultation process will help guide the development of the comprehensive 15-year Transportation Safety Program, which is designed to improve road safety for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders and drivers.
The plan is intended to build on previous city initiatives, including the Transportation Master Plan, neighbourhood traffic calming policies and reduced speed limits in school zones.
Officials say the new strategy will help prioritize and coordinate future road safety improvements across the community in a more proactive and sustainable way.
