A 26-year-old man from Scarborough is facing several charges following an investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Police say the investigation began in February as part of Project Series, a provincewide initiative led by the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit in partnership with the Provincial ICE strategy.
Investigators say the project was designed to proactively identify and disrupt individuals involved in the online luring of children.
As part of the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant and arrested the accused at a residence in Scarborough on May 20. Police also seized several electronic devices.
The accused has been charged with luring a person under 18 by telecommunication, luring a person under 16 by telecommunication and indecent exposure to a person under 16.
Police say the man was held in custody for a court appearance on May 20 before being released on bail.
He is scheduled to return to court on June 16.
