Since opening its state-of-the-art Animal Care Centre in 2023, the Peterborough Humane Society has upped its game each year, constantly adding to the list of wellness services and programs it provides pets and their owners.
That work continues at the Technology Drive centre, with the mission of being the voice for animals through community outreach, humane education and adoption front of mind. The goal is two-fold – keep animals and humans together through enhanced care and support, and reduce pet overpopulation via accessible services.
Animal health director Ashley Greenly is on the front lines of that work. She notes many are having to choose between putting food on the table and ensuring their pets needs are met.
The Peterborough Humane Society will host its annual Pet Fest event on June 20th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Animal Care Centre.
