The Ontario Provincial Police is asking for the public’s help after a community pantry was stolen in Campbellford earlier this week.
Police say officers with the Northumberland OPP detachment received a report shortly after 5:30 p.m. on May 18 regarding the theft of the pantry from Bridge Street West.
Investigators believe the theft occurred at about 2:15 p.m. the same day.
The pantry is described as off-white with a dark brown top and bottom. Police say the structure was used to provide anonymously donated items for residents in need within the community.
The OPP has released an image of the vehicle believed to have been used to transport the pantry, along with a person investigators believe may be connected to the incident.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information about the theft or the location of the pantry is asked to contact the Campbellford OPP detachment or the non-emergency police line. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
