Watermain replacement work on Duffus Street is scheduled to begin in June and continue through August 2026, according to the City of Peterborough.
The project will include installation of a new watermain, water services and hydrants, along with adjustments to select frames, covers and grates. Restoration work will also involve asphalt replacement, line painting and other surface repairs along Duffus Street between Ford Street and Grady Avenue.
The city says road closures will be implemented in phases throughout the construction period, with sidewalk closures occurring as required. Access for local traffic will be maintained where possible, although residents may experience delays within the construction zone.
Officials say the work is part of ongoing infrastructure renewal efforts aimed at maintaining water service reliability and improving underground systems.
More information on water services is available through the city’s website at City of Peterborough Water Services.
