Several City of Peterborough services and facilities will operate on modified hours or be closed Monday for Victoria Day, with officials encouraging residents to use online options where available.
The holiday schedule affects recreation centres, administrative offices, libraries, and cultural facilities across the city, while some essential services and outdoor operations will continue with adjustments.
City officials say many services remain accessible 24/7 online at Peterborough.
City Hall and administrative services closed
City Hall at 500 George St. N., including Service Peterborough, Building Services, the Clerk’s Office and the Provincial Offences Office, will be closed for the holiday.
Parking Services will also be closed, though parking in city-operated garages, surface lots and on-street spaces will be free for the day.
Online payments and services remain available through the city’s website, including fine payments at peterborough.ca/POA.
Recreation and cultural facilities impacted
Several recreation facilities will be closed Monday, including Healthy Planet Arena, the Kinsmen Civic Centre, McDonnel Street Community Centre and the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The Peterborough Museum and Archives will be open from noon to 5 p.m., while the Miskin Law Community Complex and Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre will operate reduced hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Art Gallery of Peterborough will be closed for the holiday.
Transit, airport and essential services
Peterborough Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule, with limited customer service hours throughout the day.
The Peterborough Regional Airport will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Waste collection unchanged
City officials say there will be no changes to curbside green bin or garbage collection on Monday. However, the City-County landfill and hazardous waste depot will both be closed for the holiday.
Social services and child care
Social Services offices on Charlotte Street will be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday with regular extended hours.
Emergency shelter services will remain open, with after-hours support available by phone.
All city-operated child care centres will also be closed for Victoria Day.
