A 27-year-old Peterborough woman is facing several charges under the Highway Traffic Act following a traffic stop involving a low-speed vehicle in the city’s downtown core.
The Peterborough Police Service says an officer stopped the vehicle at approximately 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday, in the area of Hunter Street and Rubidge Street.
Following the investigation, the woman was charged with operating a low-speed vehicle on a municipal highway contrary to regulations, operating a low-speed vehicle without a slow-moving vehicle sign, and operating a low-speed vehicle without insurance.
She was also charged with driving a low-speed vehicle without a required warning label indicating the vehicle’s maximum speed and operating the vehicle without a licence.
Police say the accused was issued a court date of July 13.
