Residents will have a chance to learn more about how Peterborough’s stormwater fee is calculated during an upcoming public information session.
The meeting takes place Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Peterborough Public Library, in the Friends of the Library room on the lower level.
A presentation on the Stormwater Management Fee and Rate Study is scheduled for about 7:30 p.m., with City staff available to answer questions.
The session is part of an ongoing review into how the fee is structured. In 2025, the City shifted from funding stormwater services through property taxes to a dedicated charge on water bills for residential and business customers. The current fee, based on assessed property value, is considered temporary while the study explores a long-term model.
Residents who can’t attend in person can review materials and submit feedback online at connectptbo.ca/stormwater-funding-review.
Paper copies of the feedback form are also available at the meeting or at City Hall.
Feedback will be accepted until Friday, May 22.
