A new approach is taking shape at City Hall as officials look to tighten up how traffic concerns are handled across Peterborough.
The City has launched the Traffic Technical Working Group, a new initiative aimed at streamlining how traffic and parking issues are reviewed and addressed.
The group was approved by council earlier this year and brings together staff from multiple departments, including traffic, parking, engineering, transportation planning, municipal operations and bylaw enforcement.
Officials say the goal is to take a more coordinated and data-driven approach when dealing with concerns raised by the public.
Residents are now being encouraged to play a direct role by submitting traffic and parking issues through a new online application form. Those submissions will be reviewed by the working group, with updates provided so people can track the status of their request.
The City says the new system is designed to improve consistency in decision-making while making the overall process more efficient.
