Management of the Peterborough Marina is set to shift hands as Otonabee Conservation assumes operations from the City of Peterborough.
The change marks what officials are calling a new chapter in the long-standing partnership between the two organizations. The transition builds on existing collaboration, including Otonabee Conservation’s role in operating Beavermead Campground.
Under the new arrangement, Otonabee Conservation will be responsible for day-to-day marina operations while maintaining and improving services for boaters, residents and visitors. The organization says the focus will also include supporting the long-term health of the surrounding watershed and strengthening the waterfront as a destination for recreation and tourism.
Kevin Duguay, Vice Chair of the Otonabee Conservation Board of Directors and City Councillor, said the change reflects a natural progression of the partnership between the two groups, noting the success of similar work at Beavermead Campground. He said the goal is to ensure the marina remains well-managed and accessible as a community asset.
Otonabee Conservation says additional details about marina operations and the upcoming boating season will be shared in the coming weeks.
