A member of the OPP took his final ride down the Highway of Heroes early this morning after losing his life while on duty.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Highway 401 near Burnham Street in Cobourg.
The OPP officer who was riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has since been identified as Sgt Brandon Malcolm with the OPP’s Northumberland detachment. He joined the force in 2020.
Officials say that the incident remains under investigation, and they’re asking anyone with any video dashcam footage to give them a call.
