STUFF TO DO
Friday: Pawseome Kids Camp — A PA Day camp hosted at the Peterborough Animal Care Centre, 1999 Technology Dr., Peterborough, running from 9 am to 4 pm. Designed for children ages 7–10, the $75 camp includes humane education sessions, pet-themed crafts and games, shelter tours, and animal visits. Spaces are limited. Friday: Fireside Chat & Lunch with MPs Philip Lawrence and Shelby Kramp-Neuman — Hosted by the Northumberland Manufacturers Association from 11 am to 1:30 pm at Dalewood Golf & Curling Club, Cobourg. The event features a discussion on CUSMA negotiations and Canada–U.S. trade issues, along with a buffet lunch. Tickets are $75, with proceeds supporting the Northumberland Manufacturers Association High School Student Awards.
Friday: Community celebration for Jon Thurston — A free community event takes place from 6–9 pm at the Peterborough Curling Club, 2195 Lansdowne St. W., Peterborough. The celebration honours local Paralympian Jon Thurston for his role in Team Canada’s gold medal win in wheelchair curling at the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games. Guests can enjoy cake and refreshments, with a cash bar available.
Friday and Saturday: Peterborough Theatre Guild’s Young Frankenstein — A stage production following Frederick Frankenstein as he inherits his family’s Transylvanian estate and, with the help of Igor and lab assistant Inga, brings a creature to life with unexpected results. The 7:30pm show features musical numbers including The Transylvania Mania, He Vas My Boyfriend, and Puttin’ on the Ritz. Intended for audiences 16+ due to mature themes and content.
Saturday: Spring Artist Talk – Kim Blackwell in Conversation with Patti Shaughnessy — Presented by 4th Line Theatre at 2 pm at the Peterborough Museum and Archives, 300 Hunter St. E., Peterborough. The talk features 4th Line Theatre managing artistic director Kim Blackwell in conversation with director, performer, and artistic producer Patti Shaughnessy, reflecting on her work and her role as Indigenous story consultant on Wild Irish Geese. The session is free, with advance registration required through 4th Line Theatre’s box office.
Saturday: Peterborough Stamp Club’s KAPEX 2026 – 69th Annual Stamp Show & Sale — A free community stamp show from 9:30 am to 3 pm at Westdale United Church, 1509 Sherbrooke St. W., Peterborough. The event features stamp dealers from across Ontario, Canada Post, exhibits, collection evaluations, raffles, table auctions, and special show covers. Free admission, with wheelchair access, parking, a snack bar, and a free gift for children.
