Peterborough musician Irish Millie has been shortlisted as one of five artists for the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival.
The 19-year-old fiddler, singer, and multi-instrumentalist says the recognition is especially meaningful, describing the festival and its community as central to her development as an artist.
Voting is currently underway, with one week remaining. It closes Tuesday, April 21. Fans can vote once per day per email address through the festival’s online ballot.
Based in Peterborough, she blends East Coast, bluegrass, and contemporary traditional influences and has earned multiple Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, including two in 2026 for her EP Between Then and Now.
She has performed across Canada and internationally, including festivals in Europe and major Canadian events such as the Peterborough Folk Festival and Peterborough Musicfest.
Millie is also a recipient of the Peterborough Civic Award for Community Betterment for her outreach work, including her Fiddling for Fox initiative.
