Tree planting and restoration work is set for Beavermead Park this spring following damage from the March 2025 ice storm.
The City says work will begin today in the parking lot area at 2011 Ashburnham Dr., starting with stump removal and soil remediation.
The project will remove 33 tree stumps and restore soil conditions in parking lot islands to support new growth. About 45 native trees are expected to be planted later this spring as part of a federally funded tree planting initiative.
Work is expected to take about one week. The park will remain open, but portions of the parking lot will be closed in phases, with parking still available in unaffected areas.
