Peterborough’s St. James’ Players is peeling back the veil of mystery surrounding the audition process in a bid to give aspiring theatre actors age 14 and up more confidence.
On April 18th at St. James’ United Church, the theatre company will host an audition prep class. Hosted and instructed by theatre veteran Natalie Dorsett, the noon to 2 p.m. event will cover what to expect at an audition, the importance of song selection, reading and choreography.
Dorsett outlines where the idea for the session came from.
Dorsett says knowing what to expect at an audition lessens the chance of nerves.
Dorsett says a side benefit of the audition primer is its encouragement of the next generation of St. James Players actors.
Registration for the audition prep class costs $30. Space is limited. For more information or sign up, visit www.stjamesplayers.com or follow and like the theatre company on Facebook.
