Five people are facing multiple charges after police executed a warrant at a Trent Hills residence on Wednesday.
Officers with the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP K9 Unit, seized ammunition, a bullet‑proof vest, roughly $1,000 in cash, and about 170 grams of suspected cocaine. A loaded handgun was also recovered after one person tried to flee.
A nearby traffic stop led to the arrest of two additional people, with police recovering a second loaded handgun, approximately 310 grams of suspected cocaine, and over $10,000 in cash.
Those charged include: a 27-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, a 44-year-old man, a 31-year-old man with no fixed address, and a 37-year-old woman from Oshawa.
Charges range from possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, to possession of loaded prohibited firearms, and possession of proceeds of crime.
All five were held for bail and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
