Fleming College Continuing Education is introducing a new Early Childhood Education (ECE) Leadership Development specialization, starting May 2026, aimed at helping frontline educators advance into supervisory and administrative roles while continuing to work in early learning centres.
The program comes as the demand for early years programming and skilled childhood educators grows across Ontario, and as the province expands its Canada-Wide Early Learning and Childcare system, which targets 86,000 new licensed childcare spaces. Fleming’s specialization helps bridge the gap between frontline experience and the advanced leadership skills required to meet these goals.
The online, flexible program builds on Fleming’s existing two-year ECE diploma and equips participants with training in communication, advocacy, management, staff development, marketing, financial planning, and curriculum adaptation.
Nick Stone, Associate Vice President of the School of Health and Community Services, said, “Fleming College has a long-standing reputation for excellence in ECE training. We are continuing that legacy with this leadership development specialization, providing the childcare and early years sector with the expertise to lead it.”
Applicants may qualify for financial support through the Ontario ECE Leadership Grant Program, with funding applications opening April 13.
