Hospice Peterborough is marking the end of one chapter while laying out its plans for the future.
The organization has released a new strategic plan covering 2026 to 2029, while also reflecting on key achievements over the past five years. That period included navigating healthcare system changes, an aging population, and ongoing challenges in accessing primary and home care services.
Among the highlights, Hospice Peterborough achieved accreditation through Hospice Palliative Care Ontario, expanded programs and community partnerships, strengthened staffing and governance, and extended services into rural areas through a partnership with Hospice Norwood. The organization also reported stable fundraising and continued work on equity and accessibility in care.
Board President Marie Hynes said the updated plan is designed to help the organization respond to emerging needs while maintaining high-quality care.
The new strategy focuses on four priorities: leadership in hospice palliative care, strong programs and services, organizational excellence, and financial sustainability. Hospice Peterborough says those goals will guide efforts to expand awareness, strengthen volunteer engagement, and continue improving care through data-driven practices.
The organization also thanked donors, staff, volunteers, and community partners for their ongoing support.
