Applications for the bursary, which helps women who experienced gender-based violence reach their education or training goals, will be accepted until May 1st.
Bursaries ranging from $500 to $2,500 are available to women who have experienced barriers related to the impact of violence and abuse, are looking to strengthen their economic security, are seeking to further their education or develop skills, and are a resident of Peterborough or Haliburton counties.
To apply, visit https://ywcapeterborough.org/education/.
Since 1998, the YWCA has honoured Hazel’s vision of helping women pursue their dreams and overcome barriers brought on by violence and abuse. After she passed away in 1996, the bursary fund was created by friends and admirers in her honour.
