Four people were taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 115 south of Peterborough.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Peterborough County detachment responded to the crash at approximately 8:50 a.m. Saturday. Police say the collision occurred in the southbound lanes between Porter Road and Boundary Road.
Investigators say an initial crash took place, and due to heavy fog and limited visibility, additional vehicles subsequently collided with the scene.
Emergency crews from police, fire, and paramedic services attended. Four individuals were transported to local hospitals as a precaution. Police say only minor injuries have been reported.
As of mid-morning, officers continued working at the scene and the southbound lanes of Highway 115 remained closed between Porter Road and Boundary Road while crews cleared the crash.
Police asked motorists to avoid the area and expect delays.
Drivers are also being reminded to exercise caution when visibility is limited, including slowing down, turning on full vehicle lighting, and allowing extra distance between vehicles.
