Campbellford Memorial Hospital is advancing its redevelopment with the development of a Clinical Services Plan and Master Program, marking a critical step in planning for a modern, patient-centred hospital.
Following a competitive procurement process, CMH engaged a team of experienced consultants, including HDR Architecture, Unity Design Studios, Resource Planning Group, Trans4mation Solutions Consulting, and Preyra Solutions Group. The team will work closely with hospital leadership, staff, physicians, and community partners to assess current and future healthcare needs, population trends, and service demands.
“These plans allow us to take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to redevelopment,” said Jeff Hohenkerk, CMH President and CEO. “We are ensuring that future decisions are grounded in the needs of our community and the realities of delivering care in a rural environment.”
The Clinical Services Plan will identify opportunities to strengthen care and guide decisions about services and their organization, while the Master Program will translate those needs into planning assumptions to inform design. Co-design is a central principle of the project, with feedback from staff, physicians, patients, and the community shaping the future facility.
“Redevelopment is not just about a new building,” Hohenkerk added. “It’s about creating a hospital that enhances patient and family experiences, supports our staff and physicians, and remains responsive and sustainable for generations to come.”
The initiative represents a major milestone in CMH’s long-term plan, setting the stage for design, investment, and operational decisions that will shape healthcare delivery in Campbellford for decades.
