Peterborough Musicfest has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario.
The designation highlights excellence in festivals and events across the province and places Musicfest among Ontario’s leading cultural experiences. The summer concert series, held at Del Crary Park, has been a fixture in downtown Peterborough for nearly four decades.
“This recognition belongs to our volunteers, our sponsors, our artists, our donors and every single person who brings a lawn chair down to Del Crary Park on a Wednesday or Saturday night,” said Tracey Randall, Executive Director of Peterborough Musicfest. “Musicfest has always been about access, energy and community — and this honour reflects the strength and spirit of our supporters.”
In a joint statement, City councillors and Community Services co-chairs Lesley Parnell and Alex Bierk congratulated the organization, noting the work of staff, board members, and volunteers as the festival prepares for its 39th season, which begins June 27.
Presented free of charge, Peterborough Musicfest is Canada’s longest-running free outdoor concert series. More than 100,000 people attend performances each summer along the waterfront.
The Top 100 designation by Festivals and Events Ontario is awarded by an independent panel of judges and recognizes innovation, economic impact, community engagement, and overall excellence. Concerts run from June 27 to August 19 at Del Crary Park.
