The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a man with attempted murder following an intimate partner violence incident.
Just after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence in Peterborough County. The victim told police that a former partner had arrived at their home that morning and assaulted them before leaving in a vehicle. Emergency medical services attended to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A short time later, officers located and arrested a 41-year-old male from Peterborough County. The Peterborough County OPP Major Crime Unit investigated, resulting in the accused being charged with attempt to commit murder. The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
