The City of Peterborough is inviting residents to share feedback on a proposed update to its Corporate Accessibility Policy.
City officials say the updated policy is intended to strengthen and standardize accessible service delivery across all departments. It aims to provide consistent guidance for staff, improve procedural access to municipal services, and promote equity, inclusion and customer-focused service.
The review is also designed to ensure the City remains compliant with current accessibility legislation, incorporates modern best practices, and applies accessibility principles consistently across all programs, services and operations.
Residents can review the draft policy and submit comments through the Connect Peterborough page at connectptbo.ca/proposed-corporate-accessibility-policy-update. The draft document is available under the “documents” section of the webpage.
Feedback received during the public consultation will help inform the final version of the policy. Comments will be reviewed by the Program Manager of Accessibility Standards and Integration, along with the Accessibility Advisory Committee, before the policy is presented to City Council for final consideration.
The public comment period is open until February 27.
