The City of Peterborough is inviting applications from citizens interested in serving on the Compliance Audit Committee for the 2026 municipal election.
The committee, required under the Ontario Municipal Elections Act, reviews applications requesting audits of a candidate’s or third-party advertiser’s campaign finances and oversees investigations related to candidate finances.
Applicants should have experience in accounting, audits, law, law enforcement, or related academic fields. The committee serves for the term of the newly elected Council, lasting until the 2030 municipal election. This volunteer role offers an opportunity to support transparency in local elections.
Applications can be submitted online at peterborough.ca/election or picked up at City Hall, 500 George St. N. The deadline to apply is March 20, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
