Two people are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation by the Peterborough/Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit.
Police say the investigation began in December 2025 and focused on the trafficking of cocaine and fentanyl in the Peterborough area. On February 5th, officers observed a suspect leaving a motel and made an arrest. A second person with the suspect was also arrested and later found to be wanted by the Peterborough Police Service.
Police say two additional people located in a vehicle were also arrested for allegedly breaching court orders by being in each other’s presence.
As a result of the arrests, officers seized 84 grams of suspected fentanyl, 56 grams of suspected cocaine, 250 suspected Dilaudid pills, multiple cell phones, and $4,880 in Canadian currency.
Kody Cummings, 28, of Peterborough, and Megan Casey, 42, of Peterborough, are each charged with possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and Dilaudids for the purpose of trafficking. Cummings is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Both were held for bail and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
Anyone with information about drug trafficking is asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
