Seven people face multiple drug and firearms-related charges following a large-scale police operation in Peterborough and Peterborough County.
The Peterborough/Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit began investigating suspected cocaine and fentanyl trafficking in early December 2025. On January 20th, three simultaneous search warrants were executed with assistance from the City of Kawartha Lakes CSCU, the Offender Management Apprehension Program, General Law Enforcement officers, and Peterborough Police.
Police seized roughly 2.4 kilograms of fentanyl, 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, methamphetamine, thousands of prescription pills, four firearms, seven 3D-printed Tasers, cell phones, money counters, and more than $39,000 in cash, with an estimated street value of $375,000.
The accused, ranging in age from 21 to 51, face numerous charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking multiple drugs, possession of prohibited and restricted firearms, careless storage of firearms, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of prohibited devices. All seven were held for bail and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
The investigation underscores law enforcement’s continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and illegal firearms in the region.
