The community is mourning the loss of Jo Anne Fallaise, founder, entrepreneur and longtime advocate for holistic wellness.
Born in 1935, Fallaise was known to many as a daughter, sister, wife, teacher, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a friend and inspiration to countless people.
With encouragement from her father and the support of her family, Fallaise became a pioneer in the natural health industry. In 1976, she opened a health store out of her home, driven by a mission to educate others about wellness — physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
What began as a small business grew into a gathering place for the community, where people could learn, grow and support one another on their wellness journeys.
Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods put out a statement on social media saying: “her legacy lives on through the community she helped build and the countless lives she touched with her compassion, wisdom and passion for health and wellbeing.”
