The City of Peterborough has lifted its Significant Weather Event declaration.
The declaration had been in place since January 15 as several days of snowfall and icy conditions prompted extended snow and ice control operations. Public Works crews worked continuous, extended hours clearing roads, sidewalks, bike lanes and bus stops while responding to ongoing winter weather.
Winter parking restrictions remain in effect. From December 1 to April 1, parking is prohibited on all city streets between 2 am and 6 am to support overnight snow clearing. Vehicles parked during snow-clearing operations may be ticketed or towed.
Free overnight parking continues to be available at municipal parking lots, including the King Street Parkade and the Simcoe Parking Garage.
