A school bus went off the road into a ditch in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township on Wednesday morning, according to the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
Shortly before 8 a.m., police received a report that the southbound bus had moved to the right to avoid an oncoming vehicle and its wheel hit loose snow at the side of Drummond Line, causing it to slide into the ditch.
The bus was empty except for the driver, who was not injured. The roadway was blocked temporarily while the bus was removed.
Police reminded residents that public safety remains a priority and encouraged anyone with information about suspected unlawful activity to contact Crime Stoppers.
