The Peterborough Petes have bolstered their lineup with the acquisition of Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton from the Sudbury Wolves.
General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke announced that Walton, along with Flint’s seventh-round pick in 2026, was acquired in exchange for defenceman Genc Ula, a second-round pick in 2029, three third-round picks between 2026 and 2029, and a fifth-round pick in 2027.
Walton, a 6’6” forward from Toronto, was drafted 187th overall by the Jets in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and has scored 200 points in 210 OHL games. He leads the league this season with 52 points in 33 games.
“We are very excited to welcome Kieron Walton to the Peterborough Petes,” Oke said. “His elite offensive talent and competitiveness will make an immediate impact.”
Heading to Sudbury in the deal is 2008-born defenceman Genc Ula, who recorded 17 points in 94 games with the Petes. Oke thanked Ula for his contributions and wished him success in Sudbury.
