The City of Peterborough is reminding residents about its interactive online tool, myAddress Verification, which allows users to confirm officially recognized municipal addresses.
Accurate addresses are essential for emergency response, helping first responders locate homes and businesses quickly. The tool also lets residents verify that all units at a single address are properly recorded. It can be accessed at peterborough.ca/mapping.
Information from myAddress Verification is shared with partners such as 911 Emergency Services, Canada Post, and Hydro One to maintain consistency across essential services. Developed by the City’s Geomatics/Mapping Division, the tool supports the Municipal Address By-law, which standardizes how addresses are assigned and modified.
The City also provides Address Notification Memos when changes or new addresses occur, which residents can search dating back to 2004. Additional online mapping resources are available at peterborough.ca/maps.
