The second annual Peterborough Mayoral Invitational Charity Golf Tournament has raised $6,507 in support of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation.
The event was held September 8th at the Kawartha Golf Club, drawing local residents, businesses and civic leaders for a day of golf and community giving. The funds will support the PRHC Foundation’s multi-year, $70-million campaign to expand and modernize hospital services.
Mayor Jeff Leal thanked participants and sponsors for backing a cause that strengthens health care close to home.
“I want to sincerely thank all the participants and sponsors who so generously supported the PRHC Foundation’s Campaign for PRHC, helping our regional hospital continue to deliver high-quality health care right here in our community,” Leal said, adding special thanks to tournament organizer Nigel Lister and PRHC Foundation staff.
Lesley Heighway, president and CEO of the PRHC Foundation, said the contributions help fund advanced medical technology and raise awareness about the importance of donations.
“We’re grateful to Mayor Leal and the organizers, participants and sponsors … Your generosity will help fund state-of-the-art technology that drives innovation and empowers lifesaving care for our family, friends and neighbours,” Heighway said.
The annual tournament continues to grow as a community-led fundraiser supporting essential upgrades at PRHC.
