The family of the late Dr. Azhar Syed has made a donation to support critical care services at Ross Memorial Hospital, honouring the longtime internal medicine specialist’s decades of work in the Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Syed’s son, Imran, visited the hospital this week to present $4,109 raised through the Dr. A. A. Syed Memorial Golf Tournament, held September 14 at Oliver’s Nest Golf Course in Oakwood.
The funds will support the expansion of critical care capacity at Ross Memorial, a priority of the RMH Foundation’s WE ARE THE ROSS capital campaign.
Respiratory Therapy Charge Technologist Tara Smith, who worked with Dr. Syed for many years, thanked the family for the donation, noting the connection to his longtime service at the hospital. She said the contribution will help modernize critical care facilities for the hospital’s sickest patients.
