The Petes will host their annual Teddy Bear Toss game when they welcome the Windsor Spitfires to the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals, toques, gloves and socks to the game on Thursday. Once the Petes score their first goal, spectators can throw their donations onto the ice, where they’ll be gathered and counted by Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre. To prevent damage, donors are asked to place items in clear plastic bags.
Those unable to attend can still contribute by dropping off donations at the Petes Store before game time.
Rexall, the presenting sponsor, will sell stuffed bears in the PMC lobby prior to the game, with small bears priced at $10 and large bears at $20. Net proceeds will support the Rexall Care Network and local food banks. Bears are also available in advance at both Peterborough Rexall locations.
A limited number of tickets remain for Thursday’s game and can be purchased through the Grant Thornton Box Office or by phone. You can catch the game live on FREQ 90.5 with Stew Kernan beginning at 7 p.m.
