There has been a lot of discussion regarding the latest drama involving the city and the DBIA.
Earlier this week, Peterborough city council has voted against a proposed bylaw that would have shifted a key financial power from the Downtown Business Improvement Area to the City.
PTBOTODAY.ca spoke with Town Ward Councillor Joy Lachica about the fallout from the highly charged debate.
Lachica says while it took awhile to get there, she is pleased with the decision.
With the bylaw rejected, the DBIA will continue receiving the funds directly, and the current structure remains in place until 2037.
