A 17-year-old driver is facing a stunt driving charge after being stopped Wednesday morning for travelling more than twice the posted speed limit.
At around 10:15am on Wednesday, an officer on general patrol in the Water Street and Carnegie Avenue area recorded a vehicle going 122 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
The teen was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with stunt driving, speeding, and failure to surrender a driver’s licence.
The officer issued a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
The driver is scheduled to appear in court on February 23, 2026.
