Peterborough city council has endorsed a zoning amendment that would allow a six-storey, 42-unit apartment building at 736 Maryland Avenue.
The property, located between Clonsilla Avenue and High Street, was recently purchased by Kawartha Commons Cohousing.
City staff say the proposal aligns with the Provincial Planning Statement and conforms to the City’s Official Plan. The zoning change would permit the residential project to move forward, though it still requires site plan approval before any construction can begin.
If approved at a future council meeting, staff say the development would add new housing options in the west end.
