Peterborough police have recovered three Toyota Tundra trucks stolen in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 27.
One of the trucks was found in a ditch off County Road 28 just north of the roundabout, while two others were located in an apartment building parking lot on Stenson Boulevard. Police thank members of the public who spotted the vehicles and reported them.
A Lexus stolen in a separate incident has not yet been recovered. Video released by police shows a black vehicle approach the Lexus, with two individuals involved in the theft. One person enters the vehicle and exits, while a second person then drives it away.
The thefts are part of a wider investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Street Crime Unit. Early Thursday morning, three vehicles were stolen and three others were targeted, followed by another theft early Friday, November 28. Most of the vehicles involved were Toyota Tundras from 2022 and 2024, with the Lexus being a 2025 model. Tracking devices were removed from two of the trucks and found in other neighbourhoods.
Police continue to urge owners of similar vehicles—especially Toyota trucks and larger luxury SUVs—to remain vigilant. Recommended precautions include parking another vehicle in front of the vehicle or in a garage, ensuring tracking systems are installed and activated, and using theft deterrent devices.
Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to contact Peterborough Police at 705-876-1122 x555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Suspicious activity should be reported immediately.
