Peterborough is set to host the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game presented by Enbridge Gas for a second year in January, now expanded into a multi-day event featuring the province’s top emerging hockey talent.
New this year, the event will include Top Prospects Showcases at both the U16 AAA and GOHL levels, giving NHL and OHL scouts an opportunity to see rising stars in action ahead of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.
GOHL Top Prospects Game – Tuesday, January 13
The Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL), the OHL’s official development league, will host its Top Prospects Game presented by Milk on Tuesday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Miskin Law Community Complex next to the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Forty of the GOHL’s top OHL prospects will compete as Team Thornton faces Team Scheifele—honouring alumni Joe Thornton and Mark Scheifele, who became NHL stars after developing in the GOHL.
Peterborough Petes and NHL alumni Jason Williams (St. Thomas Stars) and Matt Doyle (Waterloo Siskins) will serve as head coaches. Rosters will be announced on Wednesday, December 10.
U16 AAA Top Prospects Showcase – January 13-14
The U16 AAA Top Prospects Showcase will feature 80 of the top eligible players for the 2026 OHL Priority Selection across four teams over two days at the Miskin Law Community Complex. Rosters, chosen by OHL member team scouting departments and coaching staffs, will be released on Thursday, December 11. The showcase offers scouts a critical opportunity to evaluate talent before the Priority Selection, scheduled for June 12-13 at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston.
