A former Port Hope teacher has been sentenced to four years in prison for a series of sexual offences involving three of her former Grade 8 students.
41-year-old Kelly-Anne Jennings pleaded guilty earlier this month to six offences, including child luring, invitation to sexual touching and producing child sexual abuse material.
The guilty pleas stemmed from incidents in 2023 involving three boys. According to previously filed court information, Jennings used Snapchat to communicate with the students, sending nude and partially nude images of herself and persuading them to exchange explicit photos. One of the victims reported the messages to the Port Hope Police Service, prompting an investigation that led to her arrest in August 2024.
Along with the prison sentence, Jennings will be added to the national sex offender registry and is required to submit a DNA sample. A publication ban remains in place protecting the identities of the victims and the school where she taught.
