A 42-year-old woman is facing new charges after being arrested Wednesday evening in Peterborough.
Around 9:00pm on Wednesday, officers on general patrol were alerted to a suspended driver through the city’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system.
The vehicle was stopped in the area of High Street and Lansdowne Street West.
Officers determined the driver was not the registered owner of the vehicle, but was also suspended. During a search following the arrest, a small amount of cocaine was discovered.
The woman, who had an outstanding warrant, was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) and driving while under suspension. She was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on December 23.
