Residents are invited to share their ideas for growing Peterborough as a year-round tourism destination at two upcoming pop-up Community Cafés.
The cafés are part of ongoing work to develop the Peterborough Tourism Strategy, which aims to shape a sustainable, four-season tourism plan for the city. Other engagement activities have included focus groups, key informant interviews, and a community survey that concluded on October 31.
Community members can attend one of the following drop-in sessions:
-
Wednesday, November 12, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lansdowne Place, 645 Lansdowne St. W. (upper level, near Entrance 5/SportChek/Old Navy)
-
Thursday, November 13, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr.
The cafés will offer a space for residents to provide input on the city’s tourism vision, priorities, and the value of local tourism assets. Light refreshments will be available.
Work on the strategy began this summer with support from Bannikin, an Ontario-based tourism consultancy experienced in guiding communities and destination marketing organizations. The completed strategy is expected to be presented to City Council in spring 2026.
Updates and information about the strategy are available at connectptbo.ca/tourism-strategy.
