Peterborough County OPP is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday evening on County Road 36.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 5:15 p.m. following reports of a head-on collision between two passenger vehicles. When officers arrived, both vehicles had sustained extensive front-end damage.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 27-year-old woman from Bobcaygeon, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the eastbound vehicle suffered serious injuries and was first taken to a local hospital, then transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
County Road 36 was closed for several hours between Tate’s Bay Road and Nichols Cove Road while OPP collision reconstruction officers documented the scene.
